The Port of Bahía Blanca received an official visit from the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Argentina, Ajaneesh Kumar, as part of a working day aimed at strengthening commercial and logistical ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, authorities from the Port Management Consortium shared with the diplomat the progress in infrastructure, sustainability, and strategic planning that position the port as a key node for international trade. The visit included a tour of the port facilities and a presentation on the sustained growth of exports to India.
In recent years, the South Asian country has established itself as one of the main destinations for agro-industrial products shipped from Bahía Blanca. Between 2018 and 2024, more than 600 thousand tons of cargo were mobilized to that nation.
Among the goods shipped, sunflower oil stood out with a peak of 148,021 tons in 2023 and 74,490 tons during 2024, along with barley and corn, which began to be exported in recent years, adding more than 100 thousand tons between 2022 and 2024.
“This growth reflects the potential of the Port of Bahía Blanca as an exit platform for Argentine products with high added value, and India’s growing interest in sourcing from our region,” emphasized the port authority.
