The Government of Tucumán carried out an institutional and commercial mission in the province of Santa Fe, with the objective of strengthening interprovincial cooperation ties and promoting logistical and export development.

The agenda included visits to the main ports of Santa Fe —Port of Santa Fe, Port of Rosario, Port of Villa Constitución and Zona Franca Santafesina—, in addition to meetings with provincial government authorities and representatives of the productive sector.

The Tucumán delegation was headed by the Secretary of International and Business Relations, Virginia Ávila, and the Director of Foreign Trade of the Secretariat of Production, Juan José Merlo, together with representatives from the private sector such as Citromax, Argentilemon, Transportes La Sevillanita SRL, Agrolog, and customs brokers from Servicom and All Bridges.

“For Tucumán, it is strategic to build alliances with provinces that have river access to the world. Santa Fe is a key partner to enhance our competitiveness, reduce logistical costs, and open new export opportunities,” stated Secretary Virginia Ávila.

The mission included tours of the Port of Santa Fe, technical presentations on its strategic operations, and visits to the Rosario Fluvial Station, the Port of Villa Constitución, and the Zona Franca Santafesina. There, logistical alternatives were evaluated so that, for the 2026 season, products such as lemon, blueberries, fruits, legumes, and other industrial goods can be shipped through the ports of Santa Fe.

Regarding the tour, the Director of Foreign Trade, Juan José Merlo, pointed out that “this exchange allows for long-term planning. If we manage to consolidate cargo in Santa Fe, we not only gain competitiveness, but we also open a faster and more efficient route for our producers.”

As part of the agreements, a meeting is planned in Buenos Aires between authorities from both provinces, exporting companies, and international shipping companies to advance in the logistical planning related to the 2026 season.
