Asyad Group and CMA CGM Group signed a framework agreement to develop, manage and operate a multipurpose logistics terminal in Sohar, Oman.
This alliance establishes a long-term strategic collaboration between both organizations, combining their capabilities and expertise to enhance Oman’s ports as key hubs for global trade, strengthen operational efficiency and offer superior service to customers across the region.
The pact provides the framework for the development of a new multipurpose logistics terminal in Sohar with an investment of 400 million dollars, which will improve advanced integrated logistics services and supply chain solutions, and will contribute to strengthening new regional and international trade corridors, increasing cargo volume and consolidating the connections of Omani port facilities with global maritime transport networks and major international markets.
Abdulrahman Al Hatmi, Chief Executive Officer of Asyad Group, commented that “this alliance reflects the group’s vision of forging strategic collaborations with major global companies to enhance the commercial appeal of Omani ports and maximize the economic value of its assets. This cooperation will open new horizons for attracting trade flows and quality investments to ports, free zones and economic zones, and will strengthen Oman’s position in global supply chains, in support of the Sultanate’s objectives of consolidating itself as a key hub for trade and logistics services at an international level”.
Rodolphe Saadé, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CMA CGM Group, noted that “this alliance with Asyad Group represents an important step in the development of our logistics and port activities in the Gulf. By building a new logistics terminal in Sohar, we will strengthen regional connectivity and ensure reliable land access to major trade corridors”.
“This will ensure greater resilience and efficiency for our customers’ supply chains. Likewise, it reflects our confidence in Oman’s long-term vision and our commitment to consolidating its position as a strategic gateway connecting the Gulf with global markets”, Saadé stated.
