The company WSP Spain-Apia, S.A.U. has been awarded the contract for technical assistance to the works management for the construction of the Raos 6 dock. The contract has a budget of more than 600,000 euros and an execution period of 24 months. The already-begun construction of the new dock will represent, as explained by the president of the Port Authority of Santander, César Díaz, “an investment of 23 million euros, fully financed with the Port Authority’s own resources.” A César Díaz who added “Raos 6 represents a before and after in the port’s day-to-day, as it will allow us to optimize space, thus increasing our capacity and competitiveness,” acknowledged César Díaz.
This action, together with others such as the extension of tracks for container cranes in Raos 3, the expansion of the vertical car silo or the heel and ramp of Raos 9, is included, as pointed out by the president of the port administration. “Our priority is to support, in line with the industrial policy of the Government of Cantabria, the companies in our hinterland through a strong and committed port, capable of generating economic activity and employment in the region,” stated the president of Santander, César Díaz.
