Baku Shipyard celebrated the naming ceremony of the tanker Dostlug, which was built at the Baku Gamiqayirma Plant, one of the companies of Azcon Holding, and which will be delivered by the Republic of Azerbaijan as a gift to the Republic of Turkmenistan.
Dostlug is a vessel designed for the transport of petroleum products. The overall length of the vessel is 141 meters, the beam is 16.9 meters, the draft is 4.54 meters, the deadweight is 7,875 tons, and the total capacity of the cargo and ballast tanks is 9,056 cubic meters.
The tanker is equipped with two main engines, each with a capacity of 1,200 kW and a speed of 10 knots. “The construction of the tanker Dostlug once again demonstrates the capability of Baku Shipyard to implement large-scale and technologically complex shipbuilding projects,” the shipyard noted.
The commissioning of the Azerbaijani tanker Dostlug in the waters of Turkmenistan develops the Azerbaijani shipbuilding industry, the demonstration of national industrial potential at the international level, as well as the strengthening of friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
