The Port Authority of Chalkida was informed that a cargo (C/G) ship under the Italian flag experienced a problem with its propulsion system due to a cable entanglement in the ship’s shaft system during its departure procedure from the Chalkida Commercial Port.
The Central Port Authority of Chalkida prohibited the ship’s departure until the submission of a class maintenance certificate from the attending naval surveyor, while from the incident there was no injury and no water ingress or marine pollution was detected.
