Evergreen has received the latest container ships that mark the closure of two shipbuilding cycles. These are the final units of the megamax series, ordered from Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, and the maxi-neopanamax series, built by Samsung Heavy Industries, as reported by Alphaliner.

In the first case, the 24,004 TEU Ever Ally was the last of seven conventionally propelled ships that the CSSC Group developed for Evergreen Marine between 2022 and 2025.

“For Evergreen, these ships add to a series of six megamax vessels of similar size that the Taiwanese shipping line received from the South Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries in 2021 and 2022,” the consultancy pointed out.

The Ever Ally is 399 meters long and 61 meters wide. It will begin operating on the Asia – Europe (NEU6) service of the Ocean Alliance, where it will replace the 20,160 TEU Ever Globe.

In the second case, the 15,372 TEU Ever Model was the last unit of a series of 20 conventionally propelled ships known as the Ever M class or Ever-Max. It is 366 meters long and 51 meters wide.

From the shipyard in Korea, the Ever Model positioned itself towards Vietnam, where it joins the Asia – US East Coast service (known as EWE2 or AUE), operated by Evergreen, joining seven sister ships of the M class and six 14,000 TEU units.

“With the delivery this week of the Ever Ally and the Ever Model, Evergreen has received its last conventionally propelled container ships. Except for regional tonnage, the shipping line’s entire order book is now composed exclusively of vessels enabled to operate on LNG or methanol,” Alphaliner emphasized.
