The Bilbao port community has presented its multimodal logistics offer for all types of products and destinations to a hundred exporting and importing companies, traders, and logistics managers. Strategically located on the Atlantic axis, Bilbao has excellent maritime connectivity, as well as optimal road and rail access, and the proximity of the Bilbao and Vitoria airports which “reinforce its agile, competitive, and intermodal character with a broad, agile, and efficient offer,” as stated by Uniport, the representative of the Port Authority of Bilbao at this meeting.
Due to its infrastructure and services for all types of cargo and destinations, the port of Bilbao stands out for its port logistics community, composed of logistics operators, freight forwarders, ship agents, carriers, customs agents, stevedores, shippers, and institutions “that cooperate and compete with a common goal: to make the port of Bilbao the most efficient, reliable, and sustainable option in northern Spain,” argued the president of Uniport, Jaber Bringas.
70% of the 145 companies associated with Uniport have offices or correspondents abroad. For his part, the president of the Port Authority of Bilbao, Ivan Jiménez, emphasized that “the port of Bilbao is an infrastructure focused on customer service, which does not wait for a sustainable future, but builds it,” he said.
