Bioceanic Node Arica 2025 will be a transformative axis to consolidate the Arica and Parinacota Region as a strategic hub

The Central Bioceanic Node “Challenges and opportunities for the Andean Macrozone”, which will take place in Arica between November 26 and 28, will be a transformative axis to consolidate the Arica and Parinacota Region as a strategic hub for sustainable logistics innovation in international trade.

“This Node is in the context of our strategic axes such as the transformative one, which represents the impact we want to generate and promote, mobilizing the necessary change to maximize the impact, contributing with an innovative and technological identity and with repercussions on sustainable development,” said Marcelo Riquelme, vice-rector of Inacap Arica, the institution promoting the event.

Furthermore, the instance has the support of the Comité de Desarrollo Productivo Regional de Arica y Parinacota through the Corfo Viraliza Eventos program, the Gobierno Regional de Arica y Parinacota, the Empresa Portuaria Arica (EPA) and Terminal Puerto Arica (TPA).

During the activity, the Central Bioceanic Node “Challenges and opportunities for the Andean Macrozone” will bring together port executives and regional authorities. Among them will be Alonso Guinand, commercial and marketing manager of Cosco Shipping Ports Chancay (Peru), and Camilo Jobet, general manager of Terminal Puerto Arica, along with the governors Marcos Rocha (Rondonia, Brazil), Humberto Sánchez (Oruro, Bolivia), José Alejandro Unzueta (Beni, Bolivia), Luis Ramón Torres (Tacna, Peru) and Diego Paco (Arica and Parinacota, Chile).

Likewise, representatives from financial and business organizations will participate, such as Luis Ascencio and Dinorah Singer, from the Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina y el Caribe; Iván Berríos, president of the board of Zofri; Gustavo Jauregui, from the Cámara de Industrias de Bolivia; and Cynthia Aramayo, a member of the Consejo Binacional Chile-Bolivia.

Regarding the importance of the presence of the Brazilian delegation, the regional director of Corfo, Luis Rocafull, stated that “always in Chile and mainly Arica and Parinacota, we have wanted to be connected with Brazil, a large country, an important market and to be able to talk, dialogue regarding the issue of what can be done in cargo transport, in imports, exports, but also how we become part of what is the final manufacturing of each of the products that can be imported or exported.”

Three days of meeting

The Nodo Bioceánico Arica 2025 will have three days of meeting, where it will bring together various international actors from industries related to the foreign trade logistics chain.

The first day will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Centro Turístico Integral-EPA with a tour inside the Puerto de Arica, with the participation of professionals from TPA and EFE, to continue with the welcome ceremony, with speeches from national and international authorities, and the EPA-TPA presentation “Puerto Arica: The alternative for Asia Pacific”, led by the executives, EPA manager, Jorge Cáceres and TPA general manager, Camilo Jobet. Subsequently, a closing networking event will be held.

On Thursday the 27th, at the Hotel Antay, activities will begin at 08:30 hours, with welcoming words from national authorities and the formal inauguration with the regional governor of Arica and Parinacota, Diego Paco.

At 09:35 hours, the manager of the Puerto de Chancay, Alonso Guinand, will begin his presentation and a question and answer session with the attendees.

At 10:35 hours, the representative of the government of Rondonia and Mato Grosso will intervene. This event will feature the installation of stands from various public and private institutions in the commercial, logistics, and educational area.

At 11:40 hours, the workshop “Identification of opportunities and challenges” will take place. The day resumes at 15:00 hours, with the conversation “Logistical challenges and opportunities of the Central Bi-Oceanic Corridor”, with the authorities of the participating countries.

At 16:15 hours, the national speaker, president of the Zofri Board, Iván Berríos will intervene and at 17:00 hours, the speaker from INACAP, director of the Logistics Area, Miguel Valencia will do so.

On Friday, November 28, at 09:00 hours, the representatives of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, Luis Ascencio and Dinorah Singer, will present.

At 09:35 hours, the presentation by the counselor of the Chile-Bolivia Binational Council, Cynthia Aramayo and a representative of Tacna-Peru is scheduled. Subsequently, at 11:00 hours, the second conversation “Integrated Infrastructure for Connectivity: Challenges of the Central Bi-Oceanic Logistics Node” will be installed, to conclude with a networking roundtable.

Meanwhile, at 15:30 hours, at the Arica Hotel, the Node table will be constituted to proceed with the signing of agreements and the closing of the event.
