Brazil: PortosRio appoints three new directors

PortosRio appointed three new directors, following an election that took place during an extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors (Consad).

The inauguration ceremony for Ricardo Ganem Leal and Francisco José de Sousa Diogo took place on September 25, while Hideraldo Luis Aragão Mouta officially assumed his position on September 26.

Ricardo Ganem is the new director of Port Management. He was previously the superintendent of Corporate Sustainability at PortosRio and is currently a public administrator specialized in the management of ports and waterways with an emphasis on sustainability. He also has experience in governance applied to the remediation of environmental and territorial liabilities in the ports of PortosRio.

Ganem holds a doctorate in Energy and Environmental Planning and a master’s degree in Environmental Management and Auditing, in addition to various specializations in Public Management, Law and Environmental Engineering. For his work in environmental and institutional causes, he has received distinctions from civil and military organizations.

Francisco Diogo assumed the position of Administrative and Financial Director. With a degree in Computer Science, he has experience in leadership and administrative management. In Nova Russas, he served as councilman and president of the City Council, municipal secretary of Administration and Finance, and secretary of Planning and Economic Coordination of the City Council. He was also General Director of the City Hall of Belford Roxo, where he was responsible for financial control, strategic planning and the development of internal policies focused on improving the organizational climate.

Hideraldo Mouta took over the position of Director of Business and Sustainability. A Port and Environmental Engineer, with an MBA in Port Management and Logistics and a degree in Nautical Sciences, he has over 45 years of experience in port management and operations. He was president of PortosRio between 2016 and 2017 and held leadership positions in major Brazilian ports such as Itaqui, Salvador, Santos, Aratu and Ponta da Madeira.

His career also includes international experience, with training courses conducted in the ports of Rotterdam and Hamburg, as well as work on dredging projects, port logistics and environmental sustainability.
