BuyCo has joined the Digital Container Shipping Association’s (DCSA) DCSA+ partnership programme to support the development of interoperable digital standards for container shipping.

The move will strengthen collaboration between technology providers, beneficial cargo owners (BCOs) and ocean carriers. It also aims to improve standards-based connectivity across the industry.

BuyCo provides a carrier-agnostic digital platform that helps shippers and BCOs manage container shipping operations. The platform supports scheduling, bookings, documentation, shipment tracking and end-to-end visibility.

Through DCSA+, BuyCo will participate in industry working groups. The company will contribute feedback on APIs, workflows and data models to improve integration between digital platforms and ocean carriers.

The initiative addresses a long-standing challenge in container shipping. Many companies still rely on fragmented systems, inconsistent data formats and different carrier integration methods. These differences reduce visibility, limit automation and increase operational complexity.

By joining DCSA+, BuyCo will align its platform with DCSA’s digital standards. The company also plans to implement the latest DCSA APIs to support standardised workflows and more consistent data exchange.

DCSA represents carriers responsible for about 75% of global container trade. The partnership gives BuyCo direct access to industry collaboration while supporting its goal of delivering a fully carrier-agnostic platform.

Carl Lauron, CEO and Co-Founder of BuyCo, said interoperability is essential for creating seamless digital workflows between shippers and carriers.

He added that the partnership will allow BuyCo to contribute directly to the standards shaping the future of container shipping while strengthening collaboration across the industry.

Mariana Bock-Losada, Chief Growth Officer at DCSA, said technology providers play an important role in accelerating digital transformation.

She noted that BuyCo’s operational experience will help strengthen the development and adoption of standardised APIs and workflows that improve connectivity between shippers and carriers.

DCSA+ expands DCSA’s standards programme beyond ocean carriers. The initiative also includes technology providers, cargo owners, freight forwarders, feeder operators and terminal operators to accelerate the adoption of interoperable digital solutions across global container shipping.
