On 3rd September, the Netherlands-flagged cargo vessel Jade ran aground on the Ghent Terneuzen Canal near Sas van Gent, Netherlands. No injuries or marine pollution were reported.
The vessel, en route from Bilbao port, Spain, to Ghent, Belgium, became stranded in the canal near the bridge at Sas van Gent. Three tugboats, including Hendrik 7 and Hendrik 9, and Multratug 9, were dispatched to assist in the refloating operation.
The laden vessel was successfully refloated without sustaining any damage. Subsequently, two tugs escorted the Jade to Ghent.
Jade is a 2010-built cargo vessel that measures 88.97 metres in length, 11.8 metres in width and has a carrying capacity of 3,587 tonnes.
