Wuhan, October 15 (Xinhua) — A China-Europe freight train (Wuhan), organized by the Hubei Port Group, departed from the China Railway Union Wuhan Central Station on the 15th. After passing through the Alashankou port and arriving in Hamburg, Germany, part of the goods will be transferred and distributed to Sweden, Denmark, and Norway via rail-water intermodal transport. This injects new vitality into the economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between Hubei Province and the Nordic countries.
The entire journey time for this new route is expected to be 22 days, saving half the time compared to traditional transportation methods and significantly improving cross-border logistics efficiency. Previously, the China-Europe freight train (Wuhan) has successively opened routes to Helsinki, Finland; Oslo and Moss, Norway; and Gothenburg, Sweden, forming a logistics service network connecting multiple cities in Northern Europe.
It is understood that Hubei is currently the only province in China that has established a long-term mechanism for economic and trade cooperation with Nordic countries. The China-Europe freight train (Wuhan) has become an important link in making this mechanism effective.
As of now, the China-Europe freight train (Wuhan) has accumulated 5,791 dispatches, with a total cargo value of 120 billion yuan. (End)
