On June 5, the methanol bunkering and transport vessel “Zhongran Lvneng 85”, built by Zhejiang Taizhou Fangzhen Shipbuilding for China Marine Bunker, was successfully delivered in Zhoushan, adding hardcore strength to China Marine Bunker in the field of green marine fuel bunkering.
The “Zhongran Lvneng 85” is an 8,500 DWT duplex stainless steel /oil tanker. As China Marine Bunker’s first methanol bunkering vessel, its cargo tanks are constructed from S32205 duplex stainless steel, featuring double bottom and double sides, with B-class ice strengthening, strong corrosion resistance and fatigue resistance, enabling it to operate in various sea areas across the country.
The vessel has a total cargo capacity of 10,850 m³, capable of carrying IMO II chemicals and refined oil products with a flash point ≤60°C, supporting segregated tank loading, multi-category transport, and methanol bunkering. The main engine is 2,727 kW, with a design speed of 13.4 knots and a range of 6,000 nautical /over 20 days, suitable for Southeast Asian and ocean-going routes.
Relying on the green methanol bunkering qualifications already obtained by China Marine Bunker in Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen and other locations, the new vessel’s commissioning will further enhance China Marine Bunker’s service capability in the green methanol bunkering sector at major domestic ports, expanding China Marine Bunker’s national sea area new energy service guarantee landscape.
This delivery strictly followed industry standards and safety regulations throughout the entire process, with a rigorous and orderly procedure. On-site personnel strictly adhered to safety management regulations, carrying out vessel condition inspections, equipment and documentation verification, checklist reconciliation, and other tasks in an orderly manner, comprehensively ensuring the quality of the vessel delivery and confirming that all indicators met standards and operational requirements.
During the delivery period, China Marine Bunker focused on safe operations and compliant operations, conducting specialized training for all crew members of the “Zhongran Lvneng 85”. The training covered methanol bunkering operation specifications, prevention of collisions between merchant and fishing vessels, daily vessel reporting, and voyage report form completion standards, and promoted China Marine Bunker’s “Five Guarantees” service philosophy, effectively enhancing frontline personnel’s practical skills and safety compliance awareness, laying a solid foundation for the vessel’s routine compliant operations.
The successful delivery of the “Zhongran Lvneng 85” is an important achievement of the green strategic cooperation between China Marine Bunker and Hengxing Shipping Group, and also an important practice of green development in the domestic shipping service industry.
The operation of “Zhongran Lvneng 85” is a model outcome of industrial chain collaboration. China Marine Bunker is building a low-carbon supply network covering river-sea intermodal transport and key shipping lanes; Hengxing Shipping Group provides support with advanced vessel operation capabilities. This vessel not only enhances the supply capacity of regional clean fuels but also sets higher safety and environmental standards for chemical and refined oil product transportation.
In the future, China Marine Bunker will join hands with partners from all sectors, deepen collaborative innovation across the industrial chain, forge the resilience of the clean marine fuel supply chain, continuously improve service levels, and help the shipping industry steadily move towards a new stage of green and low-carbon development.
