Cargo ship YUANTENG688 developed a heavy portside list, probably because of cargo shift, at Macun Port Anchorage, Hainan island, Hainan Strait, around midday Apr 18. The ship arrived at Macun anchorage from Qinzhou with 2215 tons of coal on board. YUANTENG688 issued distress signal and requested assistance. Two tugs were sent to assist, 4 out of 10 crew were transferred on board of tug, 6 remained on board and took part in salvage. The ship was successfully towed to Macun port, and berthed, in the afternoon Apr 18.
