ClassNK has agreed to collaborate with GTT Training Ltd., a subsidiary of GTT, to provide specialized training courses on alternative fuels under the framework of the ClassNK Academy, ClassNK said in a statement.

The courses will focus primarily on LNG and related technologies. GTT is a technology and engineering group specializing in the design and development of cryogenic membrane containment systems for low- and zero-carbon fuels, including liquefied natural gas (LNG).

GTT Training delivers educational programs based on GTT’s technology and expertise.

Through this collaboration, maritime professionals will have access to training designed to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills for the safe and efficient handling of alternative fuels.

As an initial step, ClassNK will introduce the course “LNG, AMMONIA, METHANOL AND HYDROGEN: AN INTRODUCTION,” one of GTT Training’s existing programs.

The course will present an overview of new marine fuels under consideration in the shipping industry, highlighting their characteristics, associated hazards, and safety practices.
