Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has signed a letter of intent with a prominent European client to design and construct six liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered feeder container vessels, each with a capacity of about 1,700 TEU.
The company disclosed the development in a stock-exchange filing dated October 14, 2025, noting that a detailed shipbuilding contract covering technical and commercial terms will follow.
CSL classified the agreement as a “Mega” order, which is its highest internal category for projects valued above ₹2,000 crore.
The company added that none of its promoters or related parties has any interest in the entity awarding the order.
