According to data from the Federal Port Authority of Bahía (Codeba), which manages the public ports of that Brazilian state, last season 75 ships were received and approximately 253,000 passengers were managed. Now, this movement is expected to be further expanded with the arrival of 76 tourist ships in the /2026 season, boosting the economy and consolidating Bahía as a destination for travelers from all over the world.
The report indicates that the largest number of cruise ship stops will be concentrated in the northeast, with 76 ships arriving, 18 to Ilhéus and 58 to Salvador, until April 29, 2026. The Bahian capital will also be the starting point for unprecedented expeditions, such as the SH Vega cruise to the southern coast of Bahía.
The director of Business and Market Relations at Codeba, Demétrius Moura, highlighted the characteristics that make Bahía one of the most coveted destinations for nautical tourism. “We have two cities that are cultural and social cradles of Brazilian civilization: Salvador, with its rich history and culture; and Ilhéus, with everything that the writings of Jorge Amado have already revealed,” he stated.
The /2026 cruise season began at the Port of Bahía with the arrival of the Scenic Eclipse, with 228 passengers. The first large ship of the season will dock only on October 21, with 4,345 tourists on board.
