Dajin Heavy Industry has won a $153m contract to design, build and deliver two 211,000-dwt bulk carriers for a subsidiary of an unnamed Greek shipowner, according to Dajin Heavy Industry.

The Chinese offshore wind equipment manufacturer said each vessel will be about 299.95 metres long, 50 metres wide and 25 metres deep, with deliveries scheduled in batches in 2029.

Dajin identified the buyer only as a mainstream Greek shipowner and ship manager active in dry bulk, container shipping and tanker operations.

The company said the contract is part of its ordinary business and does not require board or shareholder approval. It expects the deal to support future operating results, with revenue recognition subject to contract execution and accounting rules.

The order follows Dajin’s April disclosure of contracts for eight 210,000-dwt bulk carriers for European shipowners, worth about $591m.

The buyers in that filing were identified only as Norwegian and Greek shipowners.

Dajin is also pursuing a Hong Kong H-share listing. Its application proof filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange says the company is expanding beyond offshore wind equipment into heavy marine transportation, ship design and construction, wind marshalling port operations and new energy development.

Dajin Heavy Industry Co is a company incorporated in the People’s Republic of China. Its products include monopiles, transition pieces, jackets, floating foundations and towers for the offshore wind sector. The company says it began ship design and construction in 2024, targeting vessels for offshore wind installation and transport as well as external commercial opportunities.
