Fincantieri has announced the delivery of Four Seasons I at the Ancona shipyard; this is the first ultra-luxury cruise yacht built for Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings LTD, joint operator of Four Seasons Yachts.
Present at the event for Fincantieri were Chairman Biagio Mazzotta, CEO and General Manager, Pierroberto Folgiero, and Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of the Merchant Ships Division, as well as Ben Trodd, CEO of Four Seasons Yachts.
The shipyard explains that Four Seasons I “not only represents a new benchmark for luxury at sea, but also the world’s first intelligent ultra-luxury ship, marking a decisive step in the digital evolution of the maritime industry. The Navis Sapiens program, which debuts with the Group’s first Navis Sapiens as presented at Seatrade 2025 and developed by Fincantieri Ingenium (a joint venture between Fincantieri NexTech and Accenture) paves the way for a new generation of smart ships, based on an integrated and continuously evolving digital architecture, which leverages artificial intelligence and real-time data to ensure safer, more efficient, and future-oriented operations. The open and scalable design also allows for the integration of emerging functionalities and technologies, without impacting the guest experience on board.”
With its residential-style “all-suite” concept, Four Seasons I opens a new frontier in ultra-luxury hospitality at sea. The ship, 34,000 gross tons and 207 meters in length, features only 95 exclusive suites, each designed as a private ocean-facing retreat. The design philosophy aims to eliminate barriers between guests and the sea, with expansive terraces and outdoor spaces. The Funnel Suite, a true icon of the ship, offers 457 square meters of private indoor and outdoor spaces, positioning itself among the most exclusive residential solutions ever created on board a ship. Inspired by the Four Seasons approach—personalized service, international-level comfort, and maximum attention to detail—the vessel brings to life a new category of tailor-made sea travel. The shipyard explains that each suite is conceived as a bespoke environment, crafted with excellent materials and extremely generous spaces, redefining the ocean experience in an ultra-luxury dimension.
In recent months, over 2,000 people, including Fincantieri employees and partner companies, have worked tirelessly on board Four Seasons I at the Ancona shipyard. Spanning 360,000 square meters, the site boasts a production capacity of 60,000 GT, lifting systems of up to 500 tons, and a hull construction capacity of 1,200 tons per month, confirming its strategic importance within the Fincantieri network. Ancona is also part of the Group’s Operations Excellence program, which involves the introduction of advanced technologies to increase work efficiency and quality, from automation to augmented reality, from artificial intelligence to collaborative robots.
