DP World announces the inauguration of a new freight forwarding office in Porto Alegre (RS). The initiative is part of the Arab multinational’s expansion strategy in Brazil and reinforces its strength in end-to-end logistics solutions, integrating services and optimizing operations that serve all of Latin America.

Located in the Edifício Mercosul Center on Avenida Carlos Gomes, the new unit positions the company in one of the most strategic logistics hubs in the south of the country. Porto Alegre concentrates important productive and industrial chains, with emphasis on the food and beverage, footwear, metal-mechanic, automotive, and petrochemical sectors – segments that drive the region’s exports.

The new office offers complete logistics services, including FCL (full container load) and LCL (less than container load) maritime transport, air transport, and domestic road transport of containers. Additional services include storage, international insurance, and customs clearance, providing customers with integrated logistics solutions throughout the entire cycle of their cargo, with greater visibility, security, and efficiency.

The sixth unit in Brazil expands the presence of DP World Logistics in the country and strengthens its global logistics connectivity network. Since 2023, the company has already opened more than 180 freight forwarding offices around the world, 35 of them in the Americas. In the region, the logistics network covers strategic locations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Suriname.

The opening of the new office in Porto Alegre marks another step in DP World’s expansion plan in Brazil, which began last year with the inauguration of structures for the same purpose in Santos, São Paulo and Campinas (SP), Itajaí (SC) and Curitiba (PR). The expansion also plans, still in 2025, the opening of a unit in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). For the coming years, inaugurations are already planned in Manaus (AM) and Fortaleza (CE). This move is expected to generate approximately 200 new direct jobs in the areas of sales, operations, and administration, reinforcing the company’s end-to-end strategy in the country.

Since the acquisition of Syncreon in 2021, DP World Logistics has been consolidating its operations by offering integrated and personalized solutions across the entire supply chain, from the point of origin to the final destination. With this new stage in Porto Alegre, the company reaffirms its commitment to the logistical and economic development of Brazil, connecting local businesses to global trade and promoting more efficiency, competitiveness, and innovation for the sector.
