DP World San Antonio received the Seabourn Pursuit, an ultra-luxury ship, which is part of the cycle of calls that this San Antonio terminal will have, totaling 15 calls.
Stephenie Dewulf, Commercial Senior Manager of the terminal, said that “the season begins this Thursday, October 30th with the arrival of the Seabourn Pursuit cruise, operated by Holland America. It is an ultra-luxury expedition cruise ship built in 2023, designed to explore remote destinations like Antarctica. It is rated as Polar Class PC6 and comes equipped with two submarines, 24 zodiacs, 8 kayaks, and a team of expert expedition guides for the passengers. All suites are exterior with a balcony. We already have 15 cruise arrivals confirmed, but that number could increase.”
In December, the MS Oosterdam (December 4th) and MS Sapphire Princess (December 6th) cruise ships will arrive, two imposing vessels with almost eight thousand visitors in total, which will be joined by the Costa Deliziosa (December 23rd), a cruise ship that will visit San Antonio on a round-the-world voyage.
The executive added that “this season coincides with the fact that a few days ago, Chile was recognized as the world’s best cruise destination by the World Travel Awards (WTA), the most prestigious awards in the global tourism industry and known as the Oscars of international tourism. This award is a recognition of the great public-private work we have carried out, in the case of San Antonio, with the Municipality and authorities, the community, shipping lines, operators, customs, police, commerce, museums, hotels, restaurants, transportation and all the involved actors. Today, cruises are part of San Antonio’s image.”
The three most visited national cruise destinations are Patagonia, Puerto Montt, and San Antonio.
