Mixed were once again the sentiments in the freight market for LPG carriers, as the large liquefied gas carriers recorded losses, while the smaller-sized vessels showed signs of stability.

In particular, according to a report by the shipbroking firm Fearnleys, the charter cost for an 84,000 cbm VLGC recorded a drop of the order of $100,000 on a monthly basis for the week ending Wednesday, October 1. Despite this, VLGC charter rates continue to fluctuate at high levels, specifically at $1.9 million per month.

On the other hand, the charter cost for the smaller-sized liquefied gas carriers remained stable on a weekly basis. Therefore, the charter rates for 60,000 cbm LGCs continue to amount to $1.1 million per month, while the charter rates for 38,000 cbm MGCs are set at $1 million per month.
