The National Police of Ecuador reported the seizure of 298.5 kilograms of cocaine at the Port of Guayaquil. The narcotic was inside a container whose final destination was Mexico.

Specifically, officials carried out an operation inside the port facility that allowed them to detect the cargo container with its seals adulterated.

The inspection found jute sacks containing 300 blocks of the alkaloid. This operation prevented the circulation of 2,985,000 doses of the drug, worth more than 13 million dollars on the European market.

In line with the report, following the discovery, two people directly involved with the illicit cargo were arrested.

It is worth mentioning that the Ecuadorian Police, after five months of investigation, dismantled a criminal organization that stored large quantities of drugs, which were then sent to Europe through different seaports in the city of Guayaquil.
