The environmental education project promoted by the Marevivo Foundation with the support of the MSC Foundation reaches its ninth edition

This year too, Genoa hosts “NauticinBlu”, the environmental education project promoted by the Marevivo Foundation with the support of the MSC Foundation and the support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, to spread greater climate awareness and a culture of the sea among the new generations.

As part of the initiative, which this year reaches its ninth edition, today the students of the Nautico San Giorgio Institute of Genoa and Camogli visited the Genoa Blue District, the district dedicated to the Blue Economy where the maritime supply chain, hi-tech, business and tourism converge with a view to the sustainable development of the city.

Also in Genoa, as in the rest of Italy, through lessons, workshops, beach cleaning activities, visits to Marine Protected Areas and meetings with sector experts, “NauticinBlu” aims to transmit to students the skills and fundamental values to tackle the environmental challenges of the present and future. Participants have the opportunity to learn about the functioning of marine ecosystems, the fragilities due to climate change and the opportunities offered by “Blue Jobs”, the professions linked to the maritime economy and the ecological transition. But there cannot be a blue economy that does not take into account environmental conservation and the protection of the marine ecosystem.
