The United States Army carried out attacks against the Iranian port of Qeshm and Bandar Abbas, according to a Fox News reporter in a post on X, citing a senior US official.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported that the country’s armed forces exchanged fire with “the enemy” on the island of Qeshm, in the Strait of Hormuz. No further details were provided.
The semi-official Iranian news agency Fars reported that multiple explosions were heard in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas and on the island of Qeshm, although the causes were not determined.
For its part, the semi-official news agency Tasnim cited local sources indicating that the explosions in Bandar Abbas were related to the Iranian air defense engagement against two drones, adding that the United Arab Emirates could be behind the attack on the dock on the island of Qeshm.
