Feteia-Oltra held a meeting with Elena Maria Atanca, Director General of Road and Rail Transport, to analyze the main regulatory developments that would affect the sector in 2026, review the immediate challenges of cross-border transport, and strengthen the collaboration mechanisms between the Administration and freight forwarders. Another topic discussed was the boost for rail freight transport and the commitment to multimodality. On this topic, Enric Ticó, president of Feteia, pointed out that “for multimodality to be truly effective, it is essential that rail highways are connected with fully operational border control posts. Without that logistical continuity, we will not be able to guarantee agile or competitive international transit for our companies,” he stated.
“We continue to monitor very closely the voting process for the convention on negotiable cargo documents. It is a key instrument for improving legal security and documentary interoperability in international trade, and that is why we maintain a constant dialogue with the Ministry of Trade, responsible for its monitoring,” added Ticó. The meeting also allowed for a review of future regulatory developments linked to the EFTI Regulation, the Simple system, and the future mandatory nature of the electronic control document, as well as the planned developments in the field of rail transport.
