On July 21, the No. 36 82,000-ton bulk carrier built by Chengxi Shipyard Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), was successfully launched.
This vessel is the first in a series of 82,000-ton ships constructed by Chengxi Shipyard for NEDA. Since the first block was laid on the berth on June 10, despite challenges posed by the rainy season and extreme heat, the project team leveraged the advantages of series shipbuilding, optimized process planning, and rigorously implemented production safety measures. They seized gaps in the rainy weather and avoided high-temperature periods to accelerate berth assembly. Through the joint efforts of various departments and the shipowner’s inspection team, the vessel set a new record for Chengxi Shipyard’s 82,000-ton bulk carriers with a berth cycle of just 41 days.
On the same day, Chengxi Shipyard’s first No. 6 50,000-ton MR chemical/oil tanker smoothly departed the shipyard, embarking on its maiden voyage.
On July 22, the benchmark block of the No. 37 82,000-ton bulk carrier built by Chengxi Shipyard for NEDA was placed on the berth for assembly, marking the start of a new batch of berth assembly operations at the company’s shipbuilding division.
