Trieste – Fincantieri, through its Underwater Technological Hub, will supply the Navy with a supply vessel, designed to guarantee maximum versatility of use, including underwater operations. The unit’s configuration and available spaces allow its use to be adapted to different operational functions, ensuring flexibility and rapid reconfiguration based on needs.

The unit will undergo adaptation work at the group’s shipyard in Palermo, with the goal of transforming it into a technologically advanced platform and fully integrated into the system of national capabilities.

“The initiative confirms the group’s intention to consolidate its role as a reference in naval innovation, developing technologies that combine flexibility, safety and interoperability, and strengthening the ability to respond quickly and in an integrated manner to the needs of the country-system, with an industrial vision oriented towards technological sovereignty and innovation,” explains Fincantieri.

“This project testifies to Fincantieri’s role as a technological enabler at the service of the Country-System, capable of combining operational speed, innovation and industrial vision. Through versatile and reconfigurable solutions, particularly in the underwater domain, we continue to strengthen our ability to respond in an integrated and effective manner to the needs of the Navy, contributing to the development of a technological sovereignty that is increasingly strategic for Italy,” said Pierroberto Folgiero, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Fincantieri.
