Foreship has provided outline concept design, naval architecture and engineering support for the first Four Seasons Yacht, after joining the project in 2019, according to Foreship.
The RINA-owned marine consulting company worked with shipowner and operator Marc Henry Cruise Holdings Ltd and Tillberg Design of Sweden on the ultra-luxury vessel, reviewing shipyard design documentation against owner requirements, regulatory standards and long-term operating needs.
Foreship’s work covered structural and naval architectural items, energy-efficiency studies and passenger comfort measures, including wind-comfort studies for the vessel’s windbreakers.
The company also supported risk assessments and alternative design solutions for two key features: the four-deck-high Funnel Suite and covered lifeboat arrangements.
“Our deep know-how in cruise-ship newbuilding allowed us to seamlessly translate industry best practices into this ultra-luxury yacht project. Our role extended far beyond reviewing drawings, we worked proactively to make sure the vessel is safe, technically robust, and built to perform optimally throughout its lifetime,” said Santeri Ihalainen, head of Foreship’s project department.
