Forto, a company active in digital solutions for international transport, has announced Matteo Caiti as its new country manager for Italy during an event held in Milan where many industry participants discussed current developments in international trade and compared the role of digital platforms such as Ship by Forto and how these can make supply chains more transparent, efficient, and resilient, in a context marked by geopolitical uncertainties and rising logistics costs.
Matteo Caiti, with over 15 years of international experience during which he also held management roles at Kühne+Nagel, brings with him extensive knowledge of supply chain and sales activities and proven experience in digital transformation through cloud-based logistics. The new Country Manager stated: “We aim to establish Forto in Italy as the logistics partner of reference, constantly optimizing processes, implementing digital solutions and artificial intelligence, ensuring fast response times and high service quality at every stage.”
Caiti also highlighted the value of Ship by Forto, the centralized platform that allows companies to book, track, and manage transport (with a focus on ocean /LCL and air freight) digitally, with a significant reduction in administrative burden. This approach ensures customers have full control of their shipments, improving the overall experience.
Founded in Berlin in 2016, Forto works with over 2,500 clients in Europe. The company established its office in Milan in 2022, centralizing sales and customer service to support the domestic market.
Guillaume Petit-Perrin, CEO of Forto, reiterated the importance of the Italian market: “Italy is a strategic market for Forto’s growth. Under Matteo’s leadership, we will strengthen our position by combining operational excellence with digital and artificial intelligence-based solutions.” The company’s ambition is: “to make shipping for Italian companies as reliable and simple as sending an email, while delivering measurable value for their business.” Forto, the company’s note concludes, aims to develop stable, partnership-based relationships rather than competing solely on price.
