On October 15, the Lujiang high-end new energy cruise ship (MW470-1) for Xiamen Wheel Passenger Travel, built by Funing Heavy Industry under Fujian Shipbuilding, was launched onto the berth.

The vessel has an overall length of 46.82 meters, a design waterline length of 46.5 meters, a molded breadth of 15 meters, a molded depth of 3.6 meters, and a design draft of 2 meters. It can accommodate 305 passengers and 9 crew members, with a gross tonnage of approximately 980 tons. It is equipped with two 600-kilowatt propulsion motors, a battery capacity of 5487 kilowatt-hours, and a maximum range of up to 70 nautical miles on a single charge.

This ship is a demonstration project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and is also the first fully transparent sightseeing electric vessel for maritime tourism in China. It integrates the concepts of “independent and controllable” and “green development” into its design and construction. The design cleverly incorporates elements of white mountain peaks and Southern Fujian architectural style. The superstructure’s outer walls feature a 360-degree fully transparent sightseeing curtain wall made of floor-to-ceiling glass. At night, it is complemented by a dynamic lighting system, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing, transparent, and highly technological appearance. It is a low-noise, zero-emission “environmentally friendly” electric vessel.
