The CEO of Georgia Ports, Griff Lynch, shared that investments will be made in the port area to improve truck turn times for customers of the Georgia Motor Trucking Association. In detail, it is planned to increase gate capacity by 72% in the next five years, including new entrances and connecting roads.
“The trucking community is GPA’s primary customer, and we want to do everything possible to make the port experience smooth: 80% of the port’s cargo is moved by truck, 20% by rail,” Lynch stated.
Garden City Terminal manages 14 thousand daily truck gate moves, with turns for these bidirectional vehicles in less than 50 minutes, ensuring the speed of the supply chain and “truckers could do between six and eight turns a day and still be home for dinner,” added the CEO of Georgia Ports.
