As the Global Sumud Fleet (GSF), which set off from Tunisia to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and is supported by activists from 44 countries, continues its advance in the Mediterranean, another move that will draw a reaction from Israel has occurred.
A statement from the GSF reported that an Israeli military vessel approached the fleet’s lead boats, “Alma” and “Sirius,” performing dangerous maneuvers and damaging their communication systems.
The statement, which noted that no one was injured during the incident despite the loss of electronic devices on the boats, said, “We are continuing our journey to Gaza to break the siege and establish a humanitarian corridor.”
A previous statement from the GSF, which had previously been subjected to suspected drone attacks, indicated that the fleet was approaching a dangerous area where there was a risk of Israeli intervention and that they were therefore on high alert.
