Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior authorized the signing of an agreement between the Government of Paraná, through the State Secretariat for Infrastructure and Logistics (SEIL), and the Municipality of Paranaguá for an investment of R$ 35.7 million in the concrete paving of several urban roads near the Port of Paranaguá. The project was donated by Portos do Paraná in partnership with the local companies Rocha and Fertipar.

The signing took place during the ceremony for the delivery of 212 rural property titles in the municipality, which had an investment of R$ 455 thousand from the state government. On that occasion, the governor also allocated R$ 26 million in yellow line machinery for the seven cities that make up the Association of Municipalities of the Coast of Paraná (Amlipa).

“Our Port of Paranaguá is experiencing a wonderful moment, having been elected the most efficient port in Brazil six times in a row, and that is why we are going to revitalize the entire surroundings of the port area in concrete. This will serve the logistics of the trucks that arrive here more efficiently,” said the governor.

According to him, the investments complement what is being done with Moegão, the largest port work underway in the country. “These are projects that bring more comfort to the population. Moegão will reduce train crossings and make life easier for residents living on both sides of the tracks,” he detailed.

Portos do Paraná was responsible for intermediating the construction project carried out by port companies, which was delivered to the Municipality of Paranaguá. “Today these roads are made of cobblestone, all irregular, where many vehicles and trucks that serve the private terminals pass. With the improvements, we generate more efficiency in movement, reduce maintenance and possible breakdowns of the cars that transit in the area,” analyzed the Director of Engineering and Maintenance of Portos do Paraná, Victor Kengo.

The agreement between SEIL and the Municipality of Paranaguá will allow the exchange of the asphalt surface for reinforced concrete pavement on 15 streets in the city, totaling six kilometers in length and 71.6 thousand square meters in area. The roads included are: Professor Décio, Xavier da Silva, Frei José Thomaz, Avenida Gabriel de Lara, Francisco Machado, Nestor Victor, Comendador Correia Junior, Soares Gomes, Conselheiro Correa, Manoel Pereira, Barão do Rio Branco, Manoel Bonifácio, Maria Cândida Souza Lobo, Baronesa do Cerro Azul and Marechal Floriano.

“In this way, we bring mobility and logistics to the port, but we also reduce crossings and road interferences in Paranaguá. The use of concrete is a definitive, lasting choice and one that Paraná has adopted as a model for Brazil,” analyzes the Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics, Sandro Alex.

He also highlighted that the coastal city will have one of the largest investment programs, starting with the concession of Lot 2 of the highways. “Starting this year, we will begin works that will bring mobility and security to those who live here,” he advanced.

The Mayor of Paranaguá, Adriano Ramos, emphasized the importance of the work for the flow of production and the development of the city. “We know that the truck driver, the one who works on the street every day, needs improved paving to take care of his equipment. We are very satisfied and the state government is always very attentive and ready to meet the needs of the municipalities,” he said.

Currently, Portos do Paraná and the State Government have already applied R$ 28.4 million in the revitalization and exchange of pavements on several streets in Paranaguá and Antonina, reinforcing the commitment to the infrastructure of the Coast.
