Recently, the keel laying ceremony for the third 45-meter spud barge in a series of barges built by CSSC Guijiang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for a Canadian shipowner was successfully held at the company’s production site. Company leaders, project team members, the shipowner’s supervisor, and representatives from RINA Classification Society attended to witness this important milestone.

Since the project was initiated, Guijiang Shipbuilding has reviewed and summarized the construction experience of the 6,000-ton deck barge and the 3,000-ton cement barge in the barge series, repeatedly optimized the structural drawings of the 45-meter spud barge, and overcome technical difficulties such as key welding joints and detailed modeling. The production department coordinated site and human resources in advance and completed the preparation of main materials such as plates and profiles, laying a solid foundation for the smooth commencement of the project.

The commencement of this project marks another milestone in the serialized and batch construction process, demonstrating Guijiang Shipbuilding’s mature experience and efficient production capacity in the field of barge construction. Going forward, the project team will strictly adhere to safety regulations, closely monitor key construction milestones, and advance all processes including block fabrication and berth assembly with high standards and high efficiency, striving to build a high-quality engineering vessel.
