Of the three Hanjin ships that have beenstranded at sea off the Port of Long Angeles and Port of Long Beach, one has been allowed to anchor and unload at the Port of Long Beach.
At 06.50 am on Saturday September 10, 2016 the Hanjin Greece, which has been anchored off the coast since August 31, 2016, docked at the port’s Pier T.
There is no news on whether or not the other two vessels, the Hanjin Montevideo and Hanjin Boston, will also be allowed to enter the port.
The ships were trapped at sea after Hanjin announced its bankruptcy on the last day of August 2016, as ports were uncertain if fees would be paid.

Concerns have been raised over the welfare of the seafarers aboard the ships, as food and water supplies were limited.
This comes after reports that the Port of New York and New Jersey were exploiting the Hanjin collapse by charging thousands of US dollars for the handling of stranded cargo.
To fill the gap in the market left by Hanjin Shipping’s collapse, Hyundai Merchant Marine(HMM) has announced it aims to create a ‘Mini Alliance’ with Sinokor Merchant Marine and Heung-A Shipping and Korea Marine Transport.
