HD Hyundai announced its 2025 executive appointments on October 17, marking an earlier-than-usual reshuffle aimed at reducing organizational confusion and maximizing synergy ahead of the planned mergers of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, HD Hyundai Mipo, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment, and HD Hyundai Infracore.

Chung Ki-sun, previously Senior Vice Chairman, was promoted to Chairman.

Kwon Oh-gap, who led HD Hyundai as Chairman, was named Honorary Chairman.

Cho Young-chul, currently President of HD Hyundai Site Solution, was promoted to Vice Chairman and appointed as Co-CEO of HD Hyundai alongside Chairman Chung.

Chung Ki-sun, a graduate of Yonsei University’s economics department and holder of an MBA from Stanford University, began his career in 2009 in Hyundai Heavy Industries’ planning and finance division. He has since led HD Hyundai’s management support office, ship sales at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and HD Hyundai Marine Solution. He currently serves as CEO of both HD Hyundai and HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering.

As part of the reshuffle, Chung will also co-head HD Hyundai Site Solution, focusing on addressing challenges in the construction machinery segment and driving new growth. Chung has overseen major strategic initiatives, including the founding of HD Hyundai Marine Solution in 2016, which grew into a core business valued at 11 trillion won, and the acquisition of Doosan Infracore in 2021.
