Data from Yangzhou Maritime Safety Administration shows that in the first half of 2025, multiple indicators of Yangzhou Port’s economy reached record highs. Among them, international vessels entering and exiting the Yangzhou section of the Yangtze River totaled 789 trips, with cargo throughput reaching 7.32 million tons, representing year-on-year increases of 50.3% and 37.1%, respectively. Additionally, during this period, Yangzhou’s water transport port added two officially opened berths and five temporarily opened berths, further improving port resource utilization efficiency.

A representative from Yangzhou Maritime Safety Administration stated that in the first half of the year, while actively promoting the opening of local terminals, the maritime authorities deepened measures to facilitate maritime administrative services for businesses and the public. Initiatives such as “one-stop processing,” “on-site services,” and “mobile app services” were implemented to shorten processing times and enhance customs clearance efficiency. At the same time, the administration improved regular communication mechanisms with the municipal port office and inspection units, continuously optimizing the port business environment and effectively elevating service standards.

High-quality services have driven high-quality development in the port economy. In the first half of the year, 146 newly built vessels were launched in Yangzhou, with a total deadweight tonnage of 3.07 million tons, marking year-on-year increases of 20.6% and 31.2%, respectively. Notably, Yangzhou Port’s wind power equipment transshipment business experienced explosive growth, with a cumulative transshipment volume of 2.2058 million cubic meters in the Yangzhou section of the Yangtze River—a surge of over 544.03% year-on-year. Yangzhou Port has become one of the core hubs for wind power equipment logistics in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Among these achievements, locally produced wind turbine blades in Yangzhou were exported for the first time, with the safe shipment of a 133-meter XXL 2XX wind turbine blade setting a new record for the longest wind turbine blade transported from a port in the Yangtze River basin.
