During the midday hours yesterday, the Port Authority of Kos was informed that the passenger-car ferry (P/C) “STAVROS” N.P. 10599 experienced a failure in its left stern winch during its approach to the port of Kos.
The failure was repaired using its own means, while before the departure for the port of Kalymnos, it was ascertained that the 45-year-old Captain of the vessel had suffered an injury to his left leg. The aforementioned was received by an EKAB ambulance vehicle and transported to the General Hospital of Kos for the provision of medical care, where he remains for hospitalization.
