Naples – The Snav fleet (Msc group) grows to twelve ships with Snav Polaris, delivered today by Intermarine, a company controlled by the Immsi group (under the Colaninno family). The new high-speed passenger transport unit, of the latest generation with reduced environmental impact, 58.20 meters long, is the sister ship of Snav Sirius, delivered in July of last year. It will enter service in the coming days, once the necessary formalities are completed, to enhance maritime connections in the Gulf of Naples.

Equipped with a propulsion system consisting of 4 engines and 3 IMO III-certified generators with electronic combustion control, complete with an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system for emission reduction, Snav Polaris can also be powered by biofuel. It is also equipped with a shore power connection for electrical supply from land and is prepared to accommodate a hybrid propulsion system for zero-emission maneuvers when entering and exiting ports. With Snav Polaris, the shipping company Snav – as explained in a statement – not only ensures a significant increase in services for citizens and tourists visiting the Gulf of Naples but also confirms its commitment to progressively eliminating carbon dioxide emissions.

Intermarine, with the delivery of Snav Polaris after Snav Sirius, confirms its position in the sector of high-tech and low-environmental-impact shipbuilding and its commitment to continuing in the passenger transport segment. “Particular attention is also given to people with reduced mobility, as the two units already comply with the latest PMR regulations of the ministry’s circulars,” informs a joint statement from Intermarine and Snav.
