Iran launched a massive barrage of ballistic missiles at Israel, hitting multiple sites including Haifa and Tel Aviv on 22 June, after the United States bombed Iranian nuclear sites.

According to Iranian state media, two volleys totaling 54 missiles were launched, hitting ten separate sites across northern and central Israel. Air raid sirens wailed across the country, and significant damage was reported in both Tel Aviv and Haifa. At least 20 people were injured as a result.

Meanwhile, Israel has resumed airstrikes on Iranian military targets, including missile launchers and troop positions in western Iran. Iran has reportedly deployed its advanced Kheibar Shekan ballistic missile as part of its retaliation, signaling further escalation.

The Iranian government condemned the US bombings as a gross violation of international law and accused Washington of betraying diplomacy by supporting Israeli aggression. President Trump defended the strikes as necessary to obliterate Iran’s nuclear capabilities and warned of further action if peace is not swiftly achieved.

As the region braces for more conflict, Israel has temporarily reopened Ben Gurion Airport to repatriate citizens amid widespread flight cancellations.

To remind, a few days ahead, on 20 June, Maersk had released a statement explaining that it has suspended vessel calls at the Port of Haifa, Israel, for Maersk-operated vessels due to the Israel-Iran conflict
