On September 14, the M/V “Fanyang Jiangjin” departed from the berth after completing the loading and unloading of 5,400 tons of summer grain at the COFCO terminal in Jiangyin, Jiangsu. According to statistics from the Jiangsu Jiangyin Maritime Safety Administration, from May to the present, 944 grain transport vessels carrying 2.234 million tons of summer grain have safely entered and departed the Port of Jiangyin, representing a 6.5% year-on-year increase in transfer volume.

The Port of Jiangyin is an important grain transshipment port along the Yangtze River. To ensure the safe transport of summer grain, the Jiangsu Jiangyin Maritime Safety Administration has established 8 temporary anchorage berths at the forefront of the COFCO terminal and scheduled the entry and exit procedures for grain transport vessels; by leveraging the smart maritime system and the special supervision zone at the junction of navigation areas A and B, it has simplified the scheduling of temporary waiting berths, boosting transfer efficiency by 30%; simultaneously, through measures such as “one ship, one policy” and “human defense + technical defense,” it provides one-stop services for vessels, ensuring the safe berthing, unberthing, loading, unloading, and transfer of grain transport ships.

Furthermore, the Jiangsu Jiangyin Maritime Safety Administration supported and ensured the renovation of the COFCO terminal, which added 2 ship loaders, 1 mobile continuous bulk grain unloader with a capacity of 1,200 /hour, along with supporting facilities such as a work tower, packing station, operational machinery, and monitoring systems, achieving fully enclosed transportation and automatic measurement throughout the grain transfer process. After the renovation, the terminal’s daily bulk grain unloading capacity reached 60,000 tons, and /unloading efficiency increased by 50% year-on-year. (By Mi Qiujian, Lu Qiyong)
