The Finnish naval equipment manufacturer MacGregor has been selected as the supplier for cargo access solutions (primarily ramps) on the nine new ferries ordered by the Grimaldi Group from the China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard (three ships for Finnlines, four for Grimaldi Euromed and two for Minoan Lines) some months ago.

“This order is the result of a collaborative approach with all project stakeholders, which ensured the supply of solutions that perfectly meet the specific requirements of the ships and the customer,” a statement explained.

The order includes two different ship designs: three ships for Finnlines, with a capacity of 5,400 linear metres and 1,000 passengers, destined for the Baltic Sea. Six ships (four for Grimaldi Euromed and two for Minoan Lines), with a capacity of 3,300 linear metres and 2,500 passengers, for the Mediterranean and Adriatic Sea networks.

“This is a fantastic achievement that strengthens our commitment to customers,” said Magnus Sjöberg, Executive Vice President of the Merchant Solutions Division at MacGregor. “By working closely with the owner and our key partners, we were able to demonstrate our ability to deliver the right solutions to meet their specific needs. This order is a clear testament to the collective expertise of our global team.”
