On November 20, Maersk’s comprehensive logistics flagship warehouse located in the Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Zone of the Lingang New Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone officially opened. This flagship warehouse was inaugurated in 2023, with an investment of over 1 billion RMB, covering a land area of 113,000 square meters and a storage area of 147,000 square meters. It is Maersk’s largest warehousing investment project in China and one of its largest warehousing investment projects globally.
The Maersk Lingang Comprehensive Logistics Flagship Warehouse is backed by the local manufacturing and consumer markets of the Yangtze River Delta, and is close to Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, giving it a superior geographical location. Leveraging Shanghai’s status as an international shipping center and the surrounding well-developed transportation network, this flagship warehouse possesses unique advantages in logistics services, enabling it to serve customers across China and the Asia-Pacific region, both domestically and internationally.
Shanghai’s Yangshan Port is one of Maersk’s most critical global shipping and logistics strategic nodes. The Maersk Lingang Flagship Warehouse will be organically integrated with the shipping, air freight, land transport, and other logistics services and facilities deployed by Maersk in the surrounding area, forming a comprehensive, integrated network. This will leverage economies of scale to provide customers with more efficient and cost-effective services. Furthermore, the warehouse is located within the Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Zone of the Shanghai Lingang New Area—China’s only special comprehensive bonded zone—and benefits from multiple innovative and simplified regulatory policies, giving it inherent advantages in customs clearance efficiency and cost.
