Terminal Portuario de Manta (TPM) incorporated new infrastructure into its facilities with the inauguration of a berth intended for tugboats. This is a work considered strategic, since it will strengthen assistance maneuvers for vessels that arrive and depart from international docks.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Ecuador’s Minister of Infrastructure and Technology, Roberto Luque; national and local authorities; representatives of the port community and users.
With a length of 44 meters and capacity to accommodate up to four tugboats simultaneously, the new infrastructure will provide optimal conditions for the operation of these specialized vessels, which are essential to ensure safer and more efficient docking and departure maneuvers.
The work, which was executed in just four months with an investment exceeding USD 600,000, was designed to have a useful life of more than 50 years, establishing itself as an investment aimed at strengthening port infrastructure and responding to the sustained growth of operations.
“Every investment we make seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of the Port of Manta and contribute to the continuous improvement of its services. We share the same vision as the National Government, to develop works that allow enhancing the development of this multipurpose terminal,” said Roberto Salazar, president of TPM.
