México: Movimiento de contenedores en Puerto de Manzanillo aumenta 9,2% entre enero y mayo

El Puerto de Manzanillo registered a 9.2% increase in container cargo movement, after adding 1 million 737 thousand TEU.

Export activities represented 44% of the total of this type of goods, while imports accounted for 41% and transshipment operations, 15%.

In general, containerized cargo covered 74% of the total commercial cargo by tonnage at the port facility. In turn, mineral bulk comprised 15%; agricultural bulk, 7%; and general cargo, 4%.

Likewise, from January to May, 734 vessels arrived, almost 10% more than in the same period of 2025, of which 496, three-quarters of the ships with commercial cargo (649) were container ships, 69 with general cargo, 62 with mineral bulk, 22 with agricultural bulk, in addition to 77 vessels with oil and derived products, and eight cruise ships.

The main shipping lines serving the Port of Manzanillo were Ocean Network Express (ONE), Hapag Lloyd and Maersk, whose corporate headquarters are in Singapore, Hamburg and Copenhagen, respectively.
