Mitsui E&S announced a significant milestone by completing the shipment of the 500th unit of its flagship dock container crane, the Mitsui-Paceco Portainer.

The 500th unit is scheduled for delivery to Phuoc An Port in Vietnam, further expanding Mitsui E&S’s global presence in port infrastructure.

Mitsui E&S began its trajectory in container crane development in 1961, through a technical partnership with Paceco Inc., a US pioneer in container crane technology.

In 1967, the company manufactured and delivered Japan’s first dock container crane, the Mitsui-Paceco Portainer, to Kobe’s Maya Wharf.

“In addition to its achievements in dock cranes, Mitsui E&S has been at the forefront of environmental innovation with its yard container crane, the Mitsui-Paceco Transtainer. Mitsui E&S has developed electric and hybrid models, and most recently, a zero-emission Transtainer powered by hydrogen, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Mitsui E&S is also actively driving remote automation technologies to improve operational efficiency and safety,” it said in a public statement.
