Moored ships due to participation of PNO in the strike of GSEE

The mobilization concerns all categories of ships and started at 00:01 at dawn, ending at midnight today.

The reason, according to the Panhellenic Maritime Federation, is the new bill from the Ministry of Labor, which provides for an increase in the daily working hours up to 13 hours, a fact which, it argues, effectively abolishes the historic triad “8 hours work – 8 hours rest – 8 hours free time”.

The PMF states that seafarers are already among the most burdened workers, with long working hours that affect their health, safety and family life.

They are also sided by the Federation of Permanent Employees of Greek Ports OMYLE, which represents the workers in the major ports, demanding the withdrawal of the bill and the reinstatement of collective agreements, as well as substantial measures for the cost of living.

The seafarers are calling for mass participation in the strike and the rallies, with a central meeting point at the Propylaea and Klafthmonos Square.
