Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has improved its service between the Western Mediterranean and /Turkey, extending the coverage to the Port of Sines, in Portugal.
The shipping company also added a westbound call at the port of Piraeus and a second call in Valencia, eliminating the stops in Gemlik and Gioia Tauro (westbound). Furthermore, MSC incorporated an additional vessel to allow this extension to Portugal, according to Alphaliner.
The loop is now completed in four weeks (one more than before) with four vessels of between 2,500 and 4,300 TEU, which call at: Valencia, Barcelona, Gioia Tauro, Piraeus, Tekirdag, Gebze, Nemrut Bay, Piraeus, Fos, Valencia, Sines and again Valencia.
The MSC Jordan III, with a capacity of 3,005 TEU, inaugurated the expanded West Med To /Turkiye Service departing from Valencia on October 15.
MSC introduced this service at the beginning of 2024, initially with three vessels of between 3,400 and 5,700 TEU, but closed the loop four months later. This summer, the shipping company reactivated it with three vessels of between 1,600 and 2,800 TEU.
